Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze whether “Countess Dracula” (Sasdy, 1971) is fundamental in the construction of the character of the vampire woman in cinematographic works of later years. From this point, an analysis is carried out based on four films to corroborate if this premise is correct. To achieve this, work has been done based on two aspects that are very marked in these proposals: the evaluation of female character through the exercise of power and the way in which her tragic endings are described.
