The use of technologies has acquired importance in different areas of life. Studies show the impact of technological development in higher education, becoming a tool that helps teaching and learning (Arellanos-Carrión, 2023; Nivela-Cornejo et al., 2021). In this sense, the Information System on Educational Trends in Latin America (SITEAL) (2022) issued a report in which it is mentioned that the region is implementing a process of integration of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the educational systems of each country, which evidences the impact of technologies in the educational sector; however, the use of technologies has also led to the emergence of problems, such as the problematic use of cell phones (Hidalgo-Andrade et al., 2022). Recently, the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has attracted the attention of the academic community, as it constitutes a tool that offers broad utilities, such as the automation of processes and task management, but which in turn could increase the risk of depersonalizing student interactions (Bossio, 2023).
